Beside the self – the word

Academia Josefa’s blog, ‘About our migration’, has seen contributions by over 20 authors since its launch in 2019. Its editors will now extend the endeavor by starting a quarterly journal.
Published as part of the blog, the new quarterly will explore diverse topics, one in each issue, in reviewed texts and originals by authors with various sensibilities and at various stages along the paths of their migration.
In essence, the aim is to enrich our vision of the world in which or of which we are; of the world with human history in it, as Josefa believes that it is our migrations that make them (the world and history).
‘All of us, migrant (s)’ – each of us in our uniqueness. As it appears, Josefa has come to a point on its journey where it is time to think of reviewing, reconsidering, rewording, re-conceptualizing the ways in which migratory phenomena are perceived and/or described. Adopting a global point of view, for Josefa ‘migration’ means ‘each man and the whole man’; it means that our "existances" are migrations. Essentially, thinking about our migrations, or observing them presupposes possessing the capacity to apprehend them and describe them in a ‘language’ that speaks itself, that speaks between us, that speaks to us.
Meanwhile, the complexity of our relationship to language raises questions. What language should I use to speak - or should I just stay silent? Does the verb find us or does it pre-exist the self? What language is sufficient to enable the difficult transition from experience to expression?
However, whether in a political, economic, artistic, philosophical, theological or scientific form, the question deserves to be asked: Do ‘I / We / You’ exist beside language? Is it possible to speak beside the spoken? Could something exist before or after language? A verb before the beginning or at the end of "History"?
Whether it is about speaking of our migrations, of the adventure of the living or about hearing the voice of humans, the call of the living, it is for us to decide in what language will we attempt it. And then see what limits we encounter.
We invite you to share this breathtaking pursuit of ideas about our "existance", where, it seems to us (Josefa speaking), that the question could be formulated this way: In our migrations, what kind of intimate and unique freedom of existence is there (in play) beside, with, in or beyond language?
And now, everyone is welcome in this adventure to seek, in a way, to ‘transcend’ our immanent migrations, within us and outside, with or without others, beside the self - the word.

A côté de soi, le langage

Alors qu’avec le concours d’une vingtaine d’auteurs, le blog « About our migration » de l’Academia Josefa vit, chemine depuis l’année 2019, son comité de rédaction a éprouvé le désir de prolonger l’expérience par la création d’une revue.
Trimestrielle, cette revue numérique prend place sur le blog, à chaque fois, selon une thématique précise et, ce, avec des textes renouvelés et originaux d’auteurs de sensibilités et de migrations diverses.
En effet, il s’agit bien d’enrichir notre vision du monde auquel ou duquel nous sommes ; monde conjugué à notre histoire humaine pour laquelle Josefa considère que ce sont nos migrations qui les font (monde et histoire).
« Tous migrant(s) », chacun selon son unicité propre. Dans cette voie, il apparait que, pour Josefa, il est bon et temps d’envisager de renouveler, de repenser, de dire à nouveaux frais, la manière dont les phénomènes migratoires sont perçus et/ou décrits. « Migration » s’entend, pour Josefa, d’un point de vue global, « tout l’homme, tout homme » ; nos « existances » sont migrations. De fait, penser ou observer nos migrations suppose de pouvoir les appréhender ou les décrire dans « un langage » qui se dit, qui nous dit, qui me dit.
Or, la complexité de notre relation au langage interroge. A quel langage je suis appelé pour me dire ou bien me taire ? Le verbe nous fonde-t-il ou nous préexiste-t-il ? Quel langage suffit donc au difficile passage de l’expérience à l’expression ?
Pour autant, que ce soit dans une forme politique, économique, artistique, philosophique, théologique, scientifique…, la question mérite d’être posée : « Je/Nous/On » existe-t-il à côté du langage ? Un dire est-il encore possible à côté du dit ? Y-aurait-il un existant avant ou après le langage ? Un verbe avant le commencement ou au terme de l’« Histoire » ?
De fait, que ce soit pour dire nos migrations, pour dire l’aventure du vivant, pour écouter nos voie(x) humano-vivantes, pour nous dire, avec quel langage le faisons-nous ? Quelles limites éprouvons-nous ?
En vous invitant à partager cet inouï questionnement quant à notre « existance », il nous semble (Josefa parlant) que la question pourrait se formuler de la manière suivante : au gré de nos migrations, quelle intime et unique liberté d’être est (en jeu) à côté, avec, dans ou bien au-delà, du langage ?
Dès lors, chacune, chacun, au gré de soi, est bienvenu(e) dans cette aventure qui cherche, en quelque sorte, à « transcender » nos immanentes migrations, en nous et hors de nous, avec ou sans autrui, à côté de soi, le langage.
